STEM Sundays #2
Welcome to #STEMSundays Series 2!
Meet Simone Douglas, a native of Columbus, Ohio, recent NCAT alumna, and a 2019 Harvard SVMP alumna. Mechanical engineering is what her degree might say, but Simone has shown an interest in business and expanding her business acumen through internships with Amazon and Google. She also has used her studies to benefit companies like Abbott and GE. This is only the surface of what makes Simone special. In 2018, she studied abroad in Ghana where she received the experience of a lifetime. She was able to teach kids, as well as become fully immersed in African culture. This experience has sparked her interest in eventually building a school for the kids of Ghana. Aside from her cultural immersion trips and internships, Simone has been of great benefit to the campus community through her leadership positions with NSBE, ASME, and the College of Engineering. Aside from her elite internships and travel abroad, Simone has also been honored with scholarships through the Executive Leadership Council and NACME. Amidst the current climate of the nation and the current job market, Simone was able to obtain a full-time offer with Microsoft in Dallas, Texas! Let's congratulate Simone on all of her accomplishments and her new start with Microsoft!
