Meet Filmore Thomas, IV, a native of Macon, GA, and a recent graduate of Fort Valley State University. Filmore graduated as a double major student obtaining degrees in Computer Science and Mathematics. Filmore's commitment to the field of STEM runs deep as he served on the e-board for several organizations on campus. He served as the President of NSBE, Treasurer of Fort Valley Society of Black Geoscientists, VP of the FVSU Mathematics Club, and President of the Cooperative Developmental Energy Program. A natural-born leader, Filmore has been able to obtain stellar internships through the Thurgood Marshall College Fund at Apple as a Data Scientist and the Department of Defense as a Research Intern. In addition, he worked on campus as a support technician for the campus IT department. Currently, Filmore works in Austin, Texas as a Data Scientist and is currently working to bring more exposure to the tech world to the campus of FVSU. In his spare time, Filmore runs a male book club catered towards reading and talking about the black plight and advancing black people in America.
